A Church

in the heart of the city

New Comm was started 25 years ago in downtown Spokane with a heart to reach the city with the good news of Jesus.

The church has gathered out of numerous locations since its inception but recently relocated back to its downtown roots and is in the process of restoring the former Central United Methodist Church building.  The CUMC has had an historic ministry in the city for well over a hundred years and New Comm is honored to continue their work in being a light to the city.

New Comm has always sought to have an open posture of generosity with our resources and facilities and to use them to benefit the local community. Church buildings are often times the most under-used facilities in a city and we aim to change that by fully utilizing our space.  Located in the downtown core of Spokane, New Comm currently provides meeting space at free or subsidized rates for around a dozen 12-step groups and numerous non-profits in our city including Young Life, the 90+ Project, and Shalom Ministries, etc.

Charities also use the building for activities such as training and fund-raising events. Our hope is to use our space to be a blessing to the surrounding neighborhood and city.

Whatever we are called to do for the King we are called to do together.  If you desire to partner in mutually beneficial ways, we would welcome a conversation on how we can better do that together.
